The NEFIS site is a members-only online portal featuring an easily searchable database of documents/resources serving the information needs of forest managers and researchers in the Northeastern US and eastern Canada.
Users can register and easily add documents and resources and easily download, comment on, and rate documents. The site includes a includes a members’ forum and newsletter feature with daily, weekly, and monthly options to users to receive a feed of most recently published items. The repository contains a searchable database of documents/resources, separated by custom categories and features, and search results may be filtered by title, views, ratings, upload date, and downloads. Resource owners can easily moderate documents/resources before they are published live and automatic email notifications are sent to authors, once the document/resource has been published, and to site admin when new documents/resources are submitted.
The NEFIS portal is a place for researchers to connect, communicate, and interact with each other and their research, fostering a collaborative community for research.
